Batch ID Script Being Overriden

Hello:
There is a SmartConnect script that prompts the end user for a Batch Number.

My Team and I found a solution, which is to assign the batchID (input value) to a global variable in the script.
Then, create a calculated field in the map that returns the global variable and assign it to the Batch ID field in the map.
This works perfectly.
