Bat File Security Prompt

Bron asked 8 months ago

We have an integration we want to get scheduled but we can’t schedule until we can get this pop-up message to go away – Pre-Task is to execute a bat file on a shared drive. We have verified everyone has windows permissions to execute the file. I’m not sure whether message is a power shell created message or a smart-connect message. If we manually run the file (without smart connect) it runs fine. Logically it’s a smart connect message:

“We can’t verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?”

Anybody see this before?

This looks like a security message you can receive when the bat file is on a shared drive. Here are two possible resolutions

  1. Move the file to the machine with the Schedule service installed on a local directory location.
  2. Try adding the shared drive as a safe site as shown in this article.
