A few weeks ago, we kicked off our dive into our CRM Self-Paced Training and are taking everything a step further today looking at the next four sections of this 14-section training set. Let’s get right into it.
CRM Change Data Sources
The Change data source for CRM integrations allows you to track any relevant data that’s been updated. SmartConnect can pin point new records, changes, deletes, etc. The functionality ensures SmartConnect continues to run at peak performance, because it’s only looking at relevant data rather than every record, every time. Map scheduling is also a key feature set here with limitless capabilities. Integrations can be scheduled as often as every minute, for specific days of the week and only during certain times of the day. This ensures you’re sending data when you want as often as you need.
Tasks and templates are covered next. Both are critical to simplifying complex integrations and completing them on-time. Tasks keep everything on schedule across your integration. They can be used to link maps together, trigger additional integrations or prompt file actions and SQL commands. Tasks are also utilized to alert users when integrations are successful or if errors occur and why. Templates are one of the most popular features among SmartConnect partners and we’re always working hard to give you tools to save you time and resources. You can access all of our CRM templated integrations here. We’ve seen a vast number of consultants utilizing our templates for Field Service and D365 recently.
Associating Parent-Child Records
Advanced messages are covered in detail to open this section. They allow you to perform action with your data rather than simply move it from point A to point B. Everything from change of ownership to change of status or converting orders to invoices and qualifying leads is accomplished with advanced messages.
When utilizing advanced messages, the relationship column comes into play as a key tool to help you relate records. This feature helps you establish a new account and set a contact as the primary.
Using the Excel Add-in to Update Data
Before we cover everything SmartConnect’s Excel Add-In has to offer, we set the stage with its foundation, SmartConnect’s Web Service. This powers all real-time integrations and allows users to push data from Excel directly into their CRM. We showcase how to best utilize the Web Service and what to know when building real-time integrations.
Everyone loves to work in Excel, myself included, and that’s what allows SmartConnect’s Excel Add-In to save users so much time. It allows you to run any configured map and push data from Excel right into CRM. Perfect for simplifying the process of adding leads, opportunities, accounts, contacts, etc. The best part is SmartConnect’s full feature set remains available ensuring all the data transformation and automation tools you love are working for you behind-the-scenes.
Triggering Processes on Existing Data
The final section we’ll cover today outlines functions you can set up in SmartConnect to ensure your data transformations are processed accurately. The map column set allows SmartConnect to determine which fields in a record need to be mapped when creating a new record in an order system. For example, selecting the fields within an order that are to be sent when creating an invoice in an ERP. Entity references are key when a data record already includes a unique identifier. This allows you to grab that record based on the unique ID directly and sent it to CRM without needing to perform a lookup, saving time and ensuring a speedy integration.
Hope you enjoyed the second installment of our CRM Self-Paced Training deep dive. We’ll be back next week with the final installment and will be covering some of SmartConnect most powerful features. Most importantly, you’ll have the information you need to be a CRM integration expert.
